Adapted and illustrated by Lisa Greenleaf, a descendent of the Greenleaf Whittier family, Ms. Greenleaf has included details and imagery from John Greenleaf Whittier's childhood home in Haverhill, MA to recount his youthful observations. This children's book features 26 full-color, realistic illustrations that will enchant readers of all ages. Ms. Greenleaf's adaptation also includes a brief biography of Whittier describing his achievements and accomplishments as a poet and abolitionist, a mentor to Louisa May Alcott, and a contemporary of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and the other Fireside Poets.
